Whether you’re going through the menopause or want to learn more about it before you do, this is a time to learn insights and coping techniques and share experiences. £30 for the whole day – all proceeds to Penny Brohn
The event will take place in our Downstairs Gallery. Places limited to 30 for the whole day but certain sessions, including the film, available to drop-ins (minimum £5 donation). There will be breaks between sessions so take time to relax and mingle in our lovely cafe bar. Don’t feel you have to attend every talk. Timings are approximate – this is the first time we’ve run a day like this!
We’ll start with a short film followed by 6 workshops led by professional therapists experienced in helping women through the menopause.

10am Red Moon Diaries; a 20 minute film which draws on the personal diaries and performances of 10 women across Bristol, exploring their inner thoughts and feelings during the menopausal years.
Liz Banks, filmmaker & senior lecturer in photography and moving image at UWE (University of the West of England) will introduce her film.Afterwards, some of the participants will reflect on the film and how they feel now, a few years on.
10.45am Local GP Q & A
Dr Anne Mitchell from Gloucester Rd Medial Practice will talk about the medical aspects of menopause including HRT, and answer your questions
11.15am Living with Menopause
Learn how to maintain focus, calmness, control and peak performance throughout the menopause by working with mindset and health. Lauren Chiren is a well-known coach and catalyst for change, helping women to maintain peak performance throughout their menopause.
12.45 Nutrition & Lifestyle
Learn about menopausal nutrition, the types of foods to eat, foods to avoid & general lifestyle changes that won’t be a chore. Find out about changes in the law around menopause in the workplace and the duty employers have now towards women experiencing menopausal symptoms. Wild Women Tea Club tea will be offering tasters of their teas – specially blended to help women’s health, including the menopause.

2pm Hypnosis & EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
